The effects of music

Many people listen to music for different reasons, whether it be for motivation or relaxation.

“I listen to music all day, every day,” sophomore Reece Coffey said.

Most students like to listen to rap or pop, but Coffey’s music taste is slightly different.

“I love to listen to classical music and metal music. I got into that music from joining orchestra and I’ve been into metal music every since I was a kid.” Coffey said.

Coffey loves classical because it has a traditional instruments, and metal because it has a lot of the same aspects as classical. He listens to music because it makes him relaxed and calm if he’s ever feeling stressed and it also helps him focus. These are just a few of the benefits that music gives him.

“I listen to a wide variety of music, it can go from phantom of the opera to hard metal in seconds.” Sophomore Olivia McCune said.

McCune has a very wide variety of music taste, she has a song or genre for all types of moods and the situations that require different attitudes.

“Music helps me focus and zero in on what I’m doing at that moment in time.” Mccune said.

Music helps relax McCune when she’s feeling stressed about something like school or a project, if she ever needs something to calm her down music is her go-to. It’s also a really good motivator if she ever needs it.

“It also gives me motivation when I need to by hyped up about something, let’s say a rugby game, I would listen to upbeat music to get me excited about it.” McCune said.
