Animation, architecture, calligraphy, ceramics, photography, painting, drawing, origami, and sculpture. These are just a few of the many kinds of art that can be created in Liberty North’s Art Club.

“This year in Art Club, we’re going to plan different activities. We will do painting, drawing, maybe something with paper and jewelry making or pancake art,” sophomore Megan Day said.

Last school year, Art Club had a very small attendance and they are hoping to increase it this year by planning more activities and creating a more organized schedule.

“We’ll try to get more people to come this year and we’ll have more of a schedule rather than just coming in and creating . We’ll still have days where we do that but we’re going to try and make it more organized. It’s a pretty small and relaxed club so it’s not really important in how good you are at art. More to how much you like it. If you like crafting and creating, you would like this club,” Day said.

Several people are already planning on joining Art Club for the first time once it gets up and running again.

“I’m going to join art club because I enjoy doing something I like, art, and meeting more people. I’m looking forward to getting more involved in the school itself,” sophomore Meg McConnell said.

The Art Club at Liberty North does not stick to the basic principles of art like drawing or painting. Last year, they integrated projects with origami and pancake art.

“Pancake art has been my all-time favorite thing we’ve done in art club. We plan to have another pancake art day this year too. Art Club is really great outlet to have fun, try new things, and express your emotions and passions in a creative way,” Day said.
