On January 28th, 2018, North American Counter-Strike team, Cloud 9, won their first international major tournament. This is a huge move for the whole country, if not the pro gaming world. The 2018 Boston Major tournament, brought on by ELeague, is a tournament that only a select 8 teams make into the playoffs of.

Cloud 9 is one of the premiere eSports teams of Counter-Strike. Cloud 9’s victory against FaZe Clan in the Boston Major makes them the only North American team to have won any Major tournament in the history of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

The ELeague Boston Major was the most recent major tournament for the game Counter-strike: Global Offensive. The main point of the game is that there are two teams that play on any certain map that the game has, one team named “Terrorists” or “T side” for short. The other team would be named “Counter Terrorists” or “CT side” for short.
