Royal Blue Snow Day

It has been a long time coming, and this has been a great season for the Kansas City Royals. Surpassing all of the other teams in their league and making it to the World Series. The Royals returned home with the “W” under their belt, and to tons of excited fans. The day following their arrival, downtown Kansas City was jam packed with the Royals crazy fans, arriving at 9:00 in the morning to get good seats for the parade. The parade didn’t start till noon so the crowd was throwing chants back and forth between the sections, in anticipation of seeing the Royals players drive by. After the Royals players arrived at Union Stations and unloaded out of the trucks they had been driven in for the parade, the rally started. People were pushing and shoving trying to get as close to the stage as possible. It was like a herd of cattle being moved through fencing. They had estimated about 250,000 people showing up, but Kansas City went all out closing schools for the day, and businesses, causing around 800,000 people to show up. When the rally was over, and people started heading home for the night, that is when the drag of the day started, horrible traffic, backed miles up down the interstate, and accidents. All in all it was a good day, only a few arrests and tons of fun for the Royals fans.
