New Years Resolutions

New Years is a time to remise with friends and family over the year you have just overcome; your successes, failures, good days, and bad days. On the day of New Years Eve, you are usually spending it at a party with the close ones you have just spent the last year with. A sense of ‘what’s next?’ fills the room as everyone chatters about how this next year could be better; improved and renewed. The end of the year is like the end of a chapter in a book. Whether that chapter was good or bad, there is always another that follows.

This time of year is perfect for improving yourself, relationships you have with others, or anything else you desire. Setting realistic goals is the best way to actually accomplish the things you want out of your new year. Staying within self aware boundaries will make the best chance for a positive outcome completing your goals. For example, try not to go into the new year with the mind frame of ‘I want to stand in this very spot in 365 days and have one million dollars more than I have right now.’ Realistically, Chances are you are not going to make one million dollars, and you may not even be in the same place, at the same party, with the same people in 365 days. A better goal would be ‘I would like to do something to increase the amount of money I make this year.’

Flexible and changeable goals keep your opinions open when it comes to completing them. Keeping track of your goals is important, write them down somewhere you go everyday like the whiteboard on your fridge or a little note on your bathroom mirror. For this New Years when you go to make your resolutions, keep them broad and open minded for the best outcome.
