Giving Back During The Holidays

A good question to ask yourself, have I ever been the one giving back or just been the one receiving? The holidays are obviously super fun with all the presents you open on Christmas day. What about the ones who can’t afford to buy presents for their families on Christmas? Could you imaging being in that position where it wasn’t a normal thing to get gifts on Christmas? I bet not. That is why it is truly important to give back not only during the holidays but in general.

“We have adopted a large family before. We adopted them when I was in middle school. I was in a club where we raised a bunch of money, and we all went to Walmart to buy the family whatever they needed. Literally all of us went and actually picked out the toys for the kids. It was an amazing experience, and we raised a lot of money for it. I would most definitely do it again! I think anyone who has the opportunity to give back in any way would be beneficial,” senior Celeste Meyers said.

There are many ways you can give back! It does not have to be some extravagant thing for a big charity. If you have the opportunity to volunteer or anything that would be a great blessing to someone who is less fortunate. You can donate canned foods, clothes, pretty much anything to all sorts of charities if you cannot volunteer.

“Our church volunteers at soup kitchens, and donates to the Salvation Army all the time. It really is worth giving back to the needy, once you see the impact you are making on someone’s life. I love helping all sorts of organizations in anyway I can. I would encourage everyone to donate and volunteer to any charity they can,” senior Rodney Hinton said.
