Blue October

So here we are the morning after the first World Serious game and I still don’t think I have grasped the fact that the Royals made it. After 29 long years we finally made it to the World Series. The boys in blue have fought hard to get here. If you think back to the Wild Card game in the seventh inning the Royals were down 4 runs and most people thought it was over, but the Royals surprised us all. They came back and tied it up. In extra innings Salvador Perez got a hit right down the third base line and won us the game. Ever since then, the Royals have made some insane plays. Their defense has been unstoppable; the outfield has had some amazing catches and Moose made that diving catch into the dugout suits. We cannot forget the hitting power we have seen at the plate or the speed on the base paths. Nobody will ever forget the game that Billy Butler stole second base. This has been an unforgettable post season.

It’s truly amazing how the Royals have brought Kansas City together. There has been an energy and buzz around town that this city has not seen in a long time. No matter were you go there are at least 5 people wearing a Royals shirt. I bet if you were to walk out into the street and start chanting “Let’s Go Royals” multiple people would join in. A majority of the fountains around the city have been turned blue in honor of the Royals. Driving down town, you’ll see a big KC projected on the Kauffman center and the Marriott Hotel has turned all their lights blue. Kansas City has come together to show their love for the Royals. These 25 men have done what everybody thought they would never do, they made it to World Series. Win or lose, I will still be proud of our team. They have fought long and hard and definitely earned their spot in the World Series.
