Because, Why Not?

So the new school year has begun, and I am going to get it kickin’ with a cliche back to school article. Because, why not?… High school is back in session. This is the time of year when parents start crying because their kids are growing up too dang fast and the kids start mentally dying because let’s be honest, no one really likes school. Regardless of our negative thoughts towards this “dreadful” place, high school could be a pretty great time. Especially when you are an Eagle. Liberty North honestly has some pretty neat stuff. We have clubs out the wazoo (including Cupcake Appreciation Club, which you should definitely join by the way), and our student section has to be one of the best. I have never been one to get super involved in school activities, and now being a senior, I really regret it. I spent the past couple years in a high school funk. I had no school spirit; I never went to the games or assemblies and rarely participated in spirit days. Man do I wish I could go back and get involved. My experience would have been so much better. But I am not going to let my past drag me down. If you want to be a dud, by all means, go right ahead. But as for me, I want to savor every last second of high school, because sooner or later we will all grow up and truly miss the memories we made in high school. So make sure you make some memories to be missed because, why not?
