Flex is new for the freshmen this year, creating varying opinions from the students.

“It’s just like a break in the day with friends,” freshman Lydia Hoffman said.

Some freshmen think it’s a great place for lots of opportunities.

“I like the fact that it’s a free period where I can get my work done and it’s a social hour,” freshman Zoe Brashears said.

Some of them think it’s a good place to study or to catch up in classes they are having trouble in.

“It’s a good place for if you need help or need help with a certain class, just like a study hour,” freshman Preston Cook said.

Though, there are some things that some freshmen dislike about it.

“It’s really loud sometimes and sometimes you can’t get your work done,” Hoffman said.

Some of it is because some people may not follow the school rules like skipping classes to hang out with their friends in flex.

“The fact that some people can be obnoxious and some people who aren’t in our flex hours can come in and interrupt our flex hours,” Brashear said.

Some freshmen just don’t like some aspects of it.

“That we can’t leave certain flex hour areas is what I don’t like,” Cook said.
