Taking it to the Mats

The Liberty North wrestling team kicked the season off at home against St. Joe Central and Staley. It was a solid night for the Eagles topping St. Joe Central, but coming up just short against the state ranked Falcons. Keeping stride, they were right back on the mats this past weekend in the Pleasant Hill Invitational. Five of our wrestlers placed fifth or higher in the tournament, which included 13 schools all throughout Missouri.

To get a better look into the team, Hunter Kellgren elaborated on this year’s season.
“We’re definitely working to be the best. All of us come to practice and are zoned in to help us do better in our matches. The coaches all help us improve our moves and push us to be our best. It’s great to be surrounded with guys who are all focused on the same goal and push each other. It’s going to be a great year!”Kellgren said.
Kellgren, wrestling in his fourth year at North, is expecting great things for the year. The Eagles suit up next on the road against Kearney and hope to continue their early season success.
