Kick Off to Girl’s Basketball

The girl’s basketball team played their first game at Platte County on November 25th  pulling out a win with a close score of 46 to 48, kicking off their 2014-2015 season with a good start. This year the team is playing with many more experienced players than before.

“Two years ago, we had those four seniors, but we had a gap. Most of the rest of our team was sophomores,” Morley said. “Now those girls are seniors, and this is our most experienced group of players we’ve ever had in terms of quantity. That has helped tremendously in practice where we only have to spend a few minutes on something, and then we can move on to something else.”

Our girl’s basketball team will have a good but challenging season as they work their way to the top. So far, as of December 16th, the team has won 2 and lost 3 games.

“We are really starting to come together, you can tell on the court that our chemistry is starting to come together. Us as a team, we are learning each others strengths and weaknesses. We are going to get better by coming to practice with a 100% effort and to get ready and prepare ourselves for our next opponent. A way to help us against our future opponents is we watch films of our previous games, and break down the film. By doing this, we are able to know every play and find every way to keep them from scoring,” Sophomore Destiny Ojigoh said.

The season schedule can be found under the Athletics category on the LNHS website, the schedule includes the time, date, and location of each game.
