Video game remasters are becoming more and more frequent. As developers and publishers realize that it is a good way to make money and it a good way to keep on the fans good side. Games like the Bethesda’s Skyrim, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, and the Bioshock games are all getting remastered, as well as many others. Personally, I think these remastered games are lazy, and just a way to get more money. I think that instead of making old games better through updated graphics and slight changes they should focus on making them better through new games and stories. I get why some fans like remastered games, it gives them another chance to remember and relive games that they love. Its just frustrating, I want to want these games but it just feels like a money grab. Why would they divert time and resources to making the same thing again just better looking, instead of putting that time and money into a new game. The part that I hate the most though, is the fact that I will still buy some of the games. The one thing I can give these games is that they can be fun and certainly can provide many hours of entertainment, but so would a brand new game if they did it correctly. Some people are okay with remastered games, and thats fine. I’d just prefer a experience to repeat one.
