TOP 5 FROM GUIDANCE

  1. Seniors: Washburn is hosting a Pre-Law Day on November 2  from 8:45-2:15.  Go to http://www.washburn.edu/a-z-index/pre-law-day/  for more information.  The registration deadline is Oct. 29th.
  2. Seniors:  Saturday, November 3 from 9:00-1:00pm, the Urban League of Greater Kansas City and Infinite Scholars present the MINORITY SCHOLARSHIP FAIR. Institutions from all over the country will be awarding scholarships on-site for students who qualify. We encourage all college bound students to attend this event at the Kauffman Foundation; for more information, call the Urban League at 816-471-0550.
  3.  Students:  The Northland Therapeutic Riding Center has openings for volunteers for the fall riding season.  Volunteers must be at least 15 years old.  Volunteers serve as sidewalkers to assist riders or as horse leaders or horse handlers.  Classes are held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons/evenings at a beautiful country setting located just northwest of Kearney at 13608 Henson Rd., Holt, Mo.  An orientation session is provided.  For more information visit our website at www.northlandtrc.org  to complete a volunteer application or call Lisa Keefe, volunteer coordinator at 816-808-1106.
  4.  Students: On October 31, a recruiter will be here from the NROTC at 9:30 am. Please get a pass from Ms. McDowell if you would like to attend.
  5.  Parents/Students: Just a reminder that you must RSVP for the Minority Focus Dinner being held on November 1.  Dinner will be served at 6pm followed by a keynote speaker and a variety of sessions for parents and students.  We hope to see you there!
