Telethon

Telethon

On Friday, April 12, 2013 both Liberty and Liberty North broadcasting teams will be hosting the annual Telethon event. This year it will be held at Liberty High school and there will be many fun things to take part in. There are many reasons why the schools host the Telethon.

“The telethon is basically just a twenty four hour broadcast with a bunch of cool events that is used to raise money for broadcasting. Since I’m in the class I get to participate in it and help out,” Junior Payton Reid said.

These students have also been working very long and hard to make this telethon great. They have put together many things for people to take part in and to help raise money.

“There will be a Mr. Liberty competition, which is kind of like a men’s beauty pageant, an improve competition, a hypnotist, midnight madness,  a block party with Steven Serrano as the DJ, human hamster balls and other really fun things for people to do,”Reid said.

The broadcasting teams have also put together many segments for people to watch all during the day on Friday.

“The segment that my group put together is guess whose basketball boys butt it is, and the secret life of Nick Hess. There will also be many other really cool segments so make sure to tune in and watch,” sophomore Lexi St. John said.

If members from the community are not able to make it out to all these fun events there are other ways for them to donate to the hard working broadcasting teams.

“Just make sure you’re watching because people can call in during all hours of the telethon and donate or donate money to our twitter wall,” sophomore Jackson Hammond said.

Make sure to tune in on Friday at eight am and watch the Telethon that these students have been working so hard to put together.
