Whether you realize it or not, you use Apple products
day-to-day. Rocking out to Moves Like Jagger, on your iPod. Tweeting your
favorite artist, on your Mac or iPad. Calling your best friend, on your iPhone.
As of October 5th, that may have all changed.
That day, the Internet and TV’s were exploding with news of
the co-founder of the company’s death. His name was Steve Jobs, and he was no
ordinary man. Without him, Apple would not be the highly successful company it
is today. Steve was the mastermind behind many of Apple’s amazing products,
which are used in millions of homes today.
“I have a few iMac’s, and iPhone 4, a 1st
generation iPad, four different generations of iPods, and a MacBook Pro. My
family loves Apple, obviously!” sophomore Meric Schonemann said.
There are thousands families just like this, all across
America, who rely on Apple products to get them through the day. Sometimes, it
is kind of crazy, the way people follow this company almost religiously. Still,
everyone has to wonder what will happen to the company without the genius CEO.
“I don’t think Apple will ever be as strong, but I think
they’ll stay a top electronics producer,” junior Alyssa Aunspaugh said.
On another perspective, it is thought that his death will
actually make sales of Apple products shoot way up. People are still in shock
of his death, even though the 56 year old resigned from his position as CEO
just six weeks before his death. His resignation was due to the fact that he
was extremely sick from pancreatic cancer, and he wasn’t able to keep up with
the fast-paced company.
“I think they’ll have problems coming up with new products
because he was the genius of the company. But I think that his products will
sell more, because of his death. People will want his products, especially now,
for a while,” Aunspaugh said.
Most people are very hopeful that the company will still be
able to easily keep up business, but there is no doubt that the company will
have to make some big changes in order to keep up with the competing electronic
producers.
“The company won’t be
the same without him. He started the company and came up with a bunch of things
that helped the company become successful; it won’t be the same,” Schonemann
said.
Americans use Apple products every single day, and it’s for
sure that Steve Jobs’ death will take a great impact on not only the business,
but the lives of many Americans.
