Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink

Students and staff at Liberty North have been pretty in pink all week to support breast cancer. This week allows everyone the opportunity to show not only their school spirit, but compassion towards breast cancer.
“So far I have been participating, and I plan to keep dressing up as the week goes on. On Monday I wore these really crazy pink socks, and today I’m wearing a pink scarf and shirt. And on Wednesday I’m going to wear this pink hat that I found. I can’t go all out for the game Thursday, because I have to wear my cheer uniform, but I will be wearing a pink bow to show support,” sophomore Sabrina Wallace said.
For some, this week is not just about wearing pink, it is something much deeper. It is a way to show their support for friends and family who have gone through cancer. This week is a reminder that anyone can get cancer, and anyone can show their support.
“My grandma died of cancer. Although it wasn’t breast cancer, it still makes me want to support any type of cancer. That’s why I’ve been participating a lot this week,” Wallace said.
The pink-out game on Thursday is another way that the students can join in the festivities this week. Students are supposed to go all out on Thursday and be completely decked out in pink.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing all of our fans in pink at the game this Thursday. My friends and I have been planning our outfits all week, and I’m really excited,” junior Anna Carter said.
Liberty North will continue looking pretty in pink this week and showing their love for breast cancer
