The second annual Homecoming weekend for Liberty North was set off with a bang at Thursday night’s Pomp-It-Up spirit night. With the band bumping, and the crowd cheering, the festivities began.

Although many old traditions were remembered, new traditions began last night. As the very first homecoming court paraded in, the five King and Queen candidates were announced.

“It felt so special to be a part of the first ever homecoming court at North. It’s such an exciting experience and I am thrilled that I get to take part in this amazing opportunity,” Senior Shannan Sanderford said.

Another special element at last night’s pep rally was Student Council’s Homecoming skit.

“I thought the homecoming skit was really funny. The pomp scenery looked great and so did the characters,” Sophomore Kylie McCracken said.

As the night advanced the fun continued with carnival themed games, cotton candy, a moon bounce, dancing, and lots of tunes. Grilled hamburgers, chips, and sodas were enjoyed by many.

“The turnout was very good this year, and I was glad to see everyone having a good time,” Junior Micaela Patterson said.

One thing is for certain, Pomp-It-Up spirit night has everybody looking forward to this weekend’s homecoming activities.
