Newspaper Journalism Awards

Liberty North publications traveled to Columbia yesterday for our annual Scholastic Journalism state convention. Newspaper students did very well, winning several awards as listed below:

Senior Austin Robbins won a Superior Award for “Band, Beatles and Buddha”
Senior Austin Robbins and Junior Katelen Permenter won a Superior Award for “A Different Kind of Love”
Junior Cortney Snyder and Sophomore Olivia Brown won a Superior Award for “Foods that Love your Body”
Seniors Savana Morrison and Summer Prather won a Superior Award for “Super Supporters”
Seniors Kelsea Graham and Summer Prather won a Superior Award for “Get to Know your Starting 5”
Senior David Roelofsz and Juniors Ally Payne and Madi Saunders won a Show-Me award for “Wireless Withdrawals”
Senior David Roelofsz won a Show-Me award for his photo “Girl reading in a Stairwell”
Senior David Roelofsz won a Superior award for his photo “The New Knock-out”

Students also competed in an on-site writing competition. Junior Katelen Permenter won 3rd place for Editorial Writing and Junior Cortney Snyder won 2nd place for Feature Writing with their stories about the drone project at MU.

The Eagle’s View also won a  Superior for both print and online.
