Livin’ the Drizzy Dream

Livin+the+Drizzy+Dream

Famous for his most recent album “Take Care”, music artist and entertainer Drake decided to hit the streets of KC for his current “Club Paradise” tour, performing at the Sprint Center on March 1. Opening music artists ASAP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar, and Chasing Ca$he performed only moments before the famous Drizzy Drake took the stage.

As anticipation built, a sold-out arena cheered loudly as Drake opened to the song “Lord Knows”. With flashing lights beaming everywhere, it made his performance even better to watch. After a couple performances, Drake stopped to share some thoughts on how his tour has been going. “Everybody I talked to about my tour, told me that my Kansas City stop was going to be my greatest show, and man, were they right. KC knows how to party. I love you guys.”  Afterwards, he then began to perform one of his biggest hits ever, “The Motto.” As the crowd was going crazy, it turned out to be one of the best songs he rapped.

Following, Drake stopped to not only take a breather, but to also see how his crowd was doing. As the concert came to a halt, fans stopped to listen. Drake looked around the Sprint Center and decided to commence his fans with shout-outs. “Yeah, I see you, right there in the pink shirt, what’s up? Yeah, I see you right there in the red YMCMB shirt, what’s good? Oh, how you doin’ girls? This must be the pretty girl section.” Drake then looked to his right, and saw his youngest, and most dedicated fan, only 4 years old. “I see you, over here on the stairs, how are you doin’? They could have taken you to Disney World, or something like that, but instead, you came to the Drake concert, you the man.”

As Drake slowly began performing his last song “Headlines”, the crowd erupted. It seemed as if every single person in the arena was singing along to his lyrics. Finishing up, standing in silence, Drake simply looked at the audience in awe. His reaction to the crowds explosion of cheer, was not in a cocky manner, but it showed how much he appreciated his fans being there to support.

Performing without back-up dancers, or props, it showed how great of an artist Drake really is. He doesn’t need those things: his lyrics simply say it all.
