I have hatred for a lot of things in the world; some of these things include non-cuddly cats, anything banana flavored, and bad hair days. However, none of these disgusting annoyances can compare to the hatred I have for The Bachelor. No, you did not read that wrong. A  teenage girl actually hates The Bachelor: oh the horror.

When the topic of The Bachelor comes up, my peers are flabbergasted at my disgust for the show. They find it somewhat unbelievable that I do not enjoy the show. I mean, what’s not to like right? Wrong. There is actually a lot to dislike. Watching mean girls gossip and stab each other in the back is not my idea of a relaxing night of watching TV.  I come home to escape from the drama of high school, not watch some more on TV.

Now I know some of you are thinking that I am making a big deal out of nothing.  I am complaining about a TV show because of mean girls, however the stupidity of the show continues. It might be hard to believe, but the concept of the show is far more stupid than the actual contestants on the show. It is a competition to see who can win over the bachelor’s heart, hence the name. After that said girl “wins his heart” he proposes to her and they end up “happily married”.

If people actually think true love can be reached in an environment like that, then I am concerned for what our society has become. Love takes time, it takes two real people, and it takes real feelings; none of which are being displayed in the show. It saddens me that these girls really think that he is the one, their true love, their future husband. I doubt I will ever be able to comprehend what exactly goes on in the minds of those girls.

I suppose I should quit wasting my time trying to understand it, and just accept the fact that The Bachelor is going to continue to air. However, I do not think I will every truly stop hating it, just like I will never stop hating non-cuddly cats, banana flavoring, or bad hair days.
