Every year I make a goal for myself. This year my goal was to save up enough money to be able to go to San Francisco for a newspaper convention. I saved up enough and have waited for this trip for the whole school year.

I have traveled to foreign countries, and domestic paradises. Throughout my adventures, I have never been nervous to travel, but for some reason I am nervous for this trip. It might be because I have never traveled without my parents and they will not be with me this time. It also might be because I have not been separated from my parents for more than a day at a time.

My anxiety has not triumphed over my feelings of excitement.  I have been obsessed with Alcatraz since third grade. I have also always wanted to go to California, but since my mom has already gone, I have never gotten the chance to go.  Now that I am able to go, I am ready to soak in all the never sights and memories.

Not only is San Francisco one of my dream trips, but also it is going to be even better since I am going with my best friend. We have spent hours of waiting and talking about what the trip is going be like for us. San Francisco will be a great escape for her and me. We will be able to get away and not have to worry about anything else except for having a good time, for five whole days. I truly can not wait for this trip.
