After a very successful season, the Screaming Eagles Marching Band brought home two more wins for the school. The band has been putting in practices since July and have worked very hard in order to compete against schools with larger and more practiced bands. Since their first competition in Carrolton, they’ve placed first in Field Show, third in Parade, second and third in Indoor Drumline, and first and third in Indoor Auxiliary Color Guard.
This was the third and final competition for the marching band, held at Trenton High School, in Trenton Missouri, on Saturday, October 19. The marching competition coincides with the town’s fall festival.
“It’s a lot more than just a competition. There are booths set up, a petting zoo. It’s a lot like Fall Festival, and the band enjoys all of it,” junior Nick Present said.
After competing in multiple events the band ultimately took first in Parade, second in field show, and fourth overall. The band got excellent marks in musical performance and general effect.
“We all worked really hard and we had a lot of fun and even though we didn’t get first place in everything we still had a good time” junior Kathy Fisher said.
This event concluded the marching season for the Screaming Eagles Marching Band.
