In the weeks leading up to February 9, students may have noticed large sheets of white paper covering up the windows of the Eagle Spirit Store located at the front of the LMC; however, those white sheets of paper were removed to reveal the new spirit store, which will be open during fifth hour.

“The store was closed because we were revamping it,” senior Teagan Lancaster said. “We brought in a few new fixtures for the clothing and made signs so that students could find the spirit gear they wanted to find easier. We also had an online survey set up for students to express what they would like to see more of in the spirit store. Lots of complaints we had were that people didn’t know when the store was open, so we made sure to advertise it on the windows.”

In order to revamp the shop, business teacher Kristen Hittner recruited the help of the fundamentals of marketing classes.

“In my opinion, it looked cluttered before,” Hittner said. “It wasn’t shoppable, and it was so crowded you could barely find what you were looking for. In revamping it, we wanted it to be more like a spirit wear boutique; in order to do that, we went on field trip and got a tour at the GAP. They took us through their back room and told us about their merchandising and we were able to get tips from a multimillion dollar company.”

The Eagle store is now open daily during lunch.
