Powder Puff is a popular flag football game where girls take the field to play flag football, while boys cheer them on or participate. “Girls flag football and the powerpuff are becoming more popular. So we’ve never done it before, but because it’s become more popular we’ve added it,” junior Makayla Beverly said.
This is an activity that all girls look forward to because it’s a creative activity where they get to choose their team name, members, and team shirts.
“We are coached by the wide receiver coach for the men’s football team, Coach Malone,” junior Hayes Hathorne said.
Powderpuff is one of the most popular school activities across the world.
“It’s technically not counted as a sport here. It’s a club, but we’re trying to get it for MSHSAA sports. It’s a sport for sure,” Beverly said.
The powderpuff teams are completely randomized which allows the girls to teambond and make memories.
“We’re not fans of how we’re not always on the same team,” Hathorne said.
Teamwork is crucial in beating the other teams and for creating new friendships along the way.
“It’s just so fun. You make so many new friends, and it’s definitely an experience that everyone should have,” Beverly said.
