Are you a poet but you just don’t know it? Should your kindergarten art projects be on display in the Guggenheim?
If so, Liberty North’s Vox is waiting for your contribution! Vox is the Liberty school district’s first-ever literary magazine and will feature the original artwork and writing of LNHS students. You may submit any form of original writing that you choose: poetry, short stories, essays, etc. Additionally, Vox will feature studio artwork: drawing and painting, photography, and sculpture. If you can create it, we can find a way to show it to the world!
Submissions will be accepted digitally. Please drop files in the “Vox Box” folder in the LNHS Turn-in (T) drive. If you would like to publish photos of a piece of art (for instance, a sculpture), please contract adviser Jennifer Higgins or Editor-in-chief Arianna Skindell, and we will accommodate. Anonymous submissions are permitted, but we encourage you to reveal your talents to the Liberty community!
Please make sure that submissions adhere to standards of taste and appropriateness. Vox encourages freedom of expression, but also recognizes the values of our community. Literary compositions will be subject to editing for length, content, and grammar and the staff reserves the right to not publish submitted works. In the event that we receive more submissions than space allows, the staff will vote on which works are published. You will be notified if your work is selected.
Our first volume will be published at an undetermined date in April. The magazine will be sold for about $5 during the school day and we hope to distribute copies throughout the community. We look forward to helping LNHS students find their voices this school year and are excited to review your submission! Please contact Jennifer Higgins by email (jhiggins@liberty.k12.mo.us) or Arianna Skindell by email (askindell@student.liberty.k12.mo.us) with any questions.
