With Christmas approaching, many houses are being dressed up for the holiday season, not only on the inside, but on the outside as well. Joy and cheer is being spread with all of the holiday lights throughout the neighborhoods.

Many changes are also occurring with Christmas lights. As time goes by, more houses are being switched to LED lights. LED lights are supposed to be more cost and energy efficient. However, these new bulbs shine a different color than traditional bulbs of the past. Many students do not find the LED light color as attractive.

“I think the old-fashioned Christmas lights are more appealing. The brighter colored lights definitely remind me more of Christmas,” junior Kylie Callura said.

Nonetheless, other students believe that the energy efficient LED lights have a certain twinkle that represents the holiday season.

“I am becoming a fan of the new LED lights.  I think that as they are becoming more and more popular, the lights are really growing on me,” sophomore Nick Jenness said.

It’s no secret LED bulbs are the new trend. Not only are houses being decorated with LED lights, but also trees, bushes, walkways, and even large yard ornaments are being used to welcome the holidays. Regardless of the lights preferred, people are still decking the halls to get ready for the holiday season.
