Homecoming Queen Candidates 2012

Kristen Holleman, Shelby Grego, Jessa Adams, Ali Hagen and Hattie Zelenek were nominated for 2012 Homecoming Queen Candidates. Listed below are their activities at Liberty North, community service activities, and plans after high school.

Kristen Holleman

Activities:

  • Choir-7 years
  • Chamber Choir-3 years
  • Band- 7 years
  • Drumline-3 years; Head Drum Major-1 year
  • Theatre-7 years; 13 shows
  • State Music Contest-3 years

Community Involvement:

  • Youth Group Participant at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church
  • Volunteers with the special needs adults at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church

Part of Homecoming week most excited for: “I’m most excited for the homecoming game at halftime! It’s going to be so neat standing under a banner with my name on it, in a pretty long dress that I got to buy just for this. I’m so excited!”

Shelby Grego

Activities:

  • Cheerleader since 8th grade
  • Varsity Cheer Captain-3 years
  • Breakfast Club-6 years
  • Student Ambassadors-1 year
  • Broadcasting-4 years
  • Newspaper-2 years

Community Involvement:

  • Member of National Honor Society-2 years

Reactions on being nominated: “When I heard them say my name on the announcements I was extremely surprised! I am super excited and I feel so honored to be nominated.”

Jessa Adams

Activities:

  • Swim and Dive team-4 years
  • Chamber choir-3 years
  • Marching band-3 years
  • FCA-4 years
  • National Honor Society-1 year 
Part of homecoming most excited for: “I’m most excited to see the school come together and have fun with the spirit days and at the football game.”

Community Involvement:

  • Camp Barnabas, working with special needs campers for a week during the summer-4 years
  • Active in church and youth group at Liberty Christian Fellowship

Ali Hagen

Activities:

  • Student Council, Senior Class Secretary-1 year

Community Involvement:

  • Volunteer at Hillcrest thrift store
  • Volunteer at Liberty United Methodist Church, Vacation Bible School
  • Highway Cleanup

Reactions when nominated: “I was surprised when I heard I was nominated! I was happy when my name was announced, but I was most happy to hear the other Queen candidate’s names because I had voted for each of them and wanted them to be nominated from the very beginning.”

Hattie Zelenak

Activities:

Community Involvement:

  • Volunteered over the summer as a counselor at Camp Win for Win KC
