At the start of 2020, Etch opened its Liberty Square location, a Christian-based small business that sells items such as apparel, home decor, jewelry, art, journals, and Bibles. Since opening, it has been very successful and has appeared at school events like Nest Fest.
“One of my favorite things about working at Etch is the environment. It’s super positive and is one of the most uplifting places you can be. Another thing I love doing there is shipping out orders. I love doing this because it’s super exciting to be able to write notes to the customers and ship out packages all over the world,” sophomore Alyssa Flener said.
Etch has been praised for its positive work environment and how it takes care of its employees and customers. Because of this stability and uplifting community, it allows employees and interns to learn more valuable skills and lessons they can apply to life outside of work.
“I think one of the biggest tricks to owning a business is communication and patience. These are crucial, especially when you are running a small business. When owning a business you need to be able to have patience when working with customers but also when you are looking for improvement in the business itself,” junior Kayla Nelson said
Etch hosts many events and pop up shops in the Liberty area. Most recently, they have celebrated their eighth anniversary, fall collection launch, Black Friday, and Small Business Saturday. In the midst of their success, Etch wants people to remember what their businesses represent and means to them.
“Our motto is placed in our shops name so Etch stands for Everything for the Christ-centered Heart. It is a Bible verse that ties in with it is Proverbs 7:3,” Senior Grace Flener said.
