Attack of the bro tanks

Attack of the bro tanks

On April 5, students may have noticed a sudden increase in the amount of tank tops, or “bro tanks” that both female and male students were wearing.

“I saw all my friends tank tops so I decided to do it too,” junior J.J. Jennings said. “I didn’t know so many people were going to be wearing them though. It felt awesome to be part of a trend, and I thought I looked good too.”

Bro tanks are the staple piece of those who prefer to both appear and feel cool, and on April 5, many students decided to do just that.

“I think tank tops are very fashionable depending on what it has printed on it,” sophomore Sofia Venegas said. “They pretty much show off your muscles, even if you don’t have any. I think lots of people wear them because they’re trendy and they’re the new thing.”

However, even though many students took the initiative to wear the “bro tanks,” administration called multiple students to the office to make them cover up.

“Tank tops go against policy,” assistant principal Chris McCabe said. “For males, the shirts have to have sleeves otherwise they go against clothing rules. We do this because it’s a decency and grooming issue where we want the arms covered for appearance.”
