A Moonlit Mystery Prom

Saturday April 20, Liberty North held their third prom, themed “A Moonlit Mystery” at the Madrid Theatre. Weeks of preparation and planning go into an event like this. With a lot of hard work, stress, and expense, by staff members and students, the night turned about to be a huge success.

“Overall I think the night was a success. Many students told us they really enjoyed the night and were very appreciative of the chaperones,” student council advisor Lindsey Plaster said.

There was a successful turnout with right around 330 students attending. The students enjoyed the food, prizes, and music available at prom.

“The Taylor Swift music was awesome. I like how they incorporated it into the dance, “ senior Kyle Malone said.

Ten students were nominated for prom court because they showed outstanding academic success. By the end of the night Jake Hanson was crowned Prom King, and Laura Haskell, Prom Queen.

“It was really exciting to be recognized in front of the whole school like that. I just wish I could have gotten the crown on easier. It was a little embarrassing”, senior Laura Haskell said.

Staff members and students alike were very pleased with how the night turned out. As the 2012-2012 school year is almost over, “A Moonlit Mystery” prom will help to finish the school year on a positive note.
