Sign Here: LIberty Norths First Athletes Signatures

Signatures were made by eight of our college committed athletic seniors on February 1st, 2012. Being watched by their peers, all the seniors smiled as they signed their letters of intent at the Athletic Signing Ceremony. Stories about these seniors’ journeys through high school were told by coaches behind a microphone and in front of dozens of cameras. The feeling of joy and pride spread throughout the field house as students and parents shook hands with teachers, friends and coaches. Tears were shed, but they were tears of happiness when parents, grandparents and siblings watched their senior take the next step in their lives. Before the signatures were made, all eight seniors had something to say about the ceremony.

Garrett Loew

Colorado School of the Mines

Basketball

“I’m excited to go to their college. I’ve already signed but it’s exciting to get recognized here. I really like the coaches there, I’ve been out there twice now and I’ve eaten with them. I’ve got to know them and it seems like a good fit,” said Loew.

Bailey Barnett

Blue River Comminity College

Soccer

“I really liked the coach and staff. I don’t exactly know what I want to do with my future yet so I felt that community college was the best choice for me,” said Barnett.

Megan Hummel

Avila University

Volleyball

“I chose Avila because it’s smaller. I really clicked with the girls when I went for a visit. The coach is pretty cool, outgoing and open. I’ve already signed but I’m still looking forward to it,” said Hummel.

Jared Dotson

Aliva University

Football

“I’m nervous; I really wanna play and they coaches in Avila have given me an opportunity to play, so I’ll play,” said Dotson.

JD Williams

Southern Illinios University Edwardsville

Baseball

“It’s pretty exciting. I’ll be the first guy at Liberty North to go to Edwardsville and I couldn’t have done it without a lot of other people in my life. It’s nice to be recognized with my peers in such a great celebration,” said Williams.

Reed Morton

University of Central Missouri

Baseball

“I’m excited about joining UCM baseball program because it has a strong tradition and a strong program. They have a tradition for winning. I’m following in the footsteps of my family. It is exciting to be able to contribute as a pitcher, but off the field as well,” said Morton.

Max Jobson

Pittsburg State University

Cross Country/ Track

“I’m excited about this. I narrowed it down to about five colleges and left it up to the one that was the most comfortable which I felt was Pitt. State. I look forward to attending, being a Gorilla and running on their track,” said Jobson.

Michael Barrett

University of Saint Mary

Football

“They made me feel like I needed to be there; it was an easy choice. The coaches are pretty cool and laid back. I’m actually signing here tonight officially and I’m excited about it,” said Barrett.
