North’s Duel With Chillicothe

The intense pre-season workouts appear to be paying off for Liberty North’s Wrestling team, as these workouts continue to transition into full force matches. Not having to just practice techniques against teammates, the athletes get to hit the mat for real competition. Fans will say that the team’s season has been filled with exciting finishes and really inspiring matches. The latest team action was Wednesday December 7, as the Liberty North Wrestling team squared off against the Chillicothe Hornets. The team won 43-33.

“I came off a tough loss in our past tournament, so I was ready for my match. This is something that helped me with the match against Chillicothe. I had good top pressure on the kid. For our team, I think everyone was pumped up and wanted to win this duel at home,” Senior Seth Pierce said.

With so much success against Chillicothe, and so many other opponents this year,  expectations are starting to mount for this team for the nearby future. These athlete’s struggles do not last long and they have proven time and time again, that they can come back and show success every match.

“Varsity did really good against Chillicothe, and so did the JV. It was a good dual. It was an improvement compared to other matches,” Junior Ian Weber said.

North Wrestling has had a lot of success this far into the season. Their latest duel against Chillicothe further shows just how high expectations have become for this team. If you missed the Chillicothe match, come out and cheer for your Liberty North Wrestling team at their next home match, Staley/Grain Valley, December 13th at 6:00.
