Laura Babbitt:

“I have been playing basketball for nine years and started in second grade. I started playing basketball because my best friend, Kennedy Herrig, was playing and I wanted to play with her. My favorite part is all the girls I have met through the program and it is so fun playing in front of a crowd. I’m looking forward to having a good team full of good athletes and being able to compete with the teams we play.”

Millie Perry:

“I started playing basketball in second grade, so that would be about eight years of playing. My whole family has always been a basketball family, my mom played in college and my dad was on her scout team, my sister is currently playing at SBU and my brother has always played and is currently playing for the high school right now. When I was younger I actually hated basketball but I decided to try it once and just loved playing. My favorite part of being on the high school team is probably playing games because we work so hard in practice and it’s fun to have it all pay off when we play games. I am most looking forward to seeing how far we go. We’re a really deep team with a lot of talent and I think that we have a serious chance to make a run this year. I think that as long as we trust each other and keep building our team chemistry I think it’s gonna be a really fun year.”

Ava Levings:

“I have been playing basketball for as long as I can remember. I started at around the age of four so I have been playing for thirteen years now. My parents introduced me to basketball. My dad was my coach for quite some time and he has always had a big influence on my game and is one of my biggest supporters. My favorite part about playing on the high school team is my teammates. We are a close-knit team and we always have a good time on and off the court. I am most excited to just play with my team. We have a lot of potential and I am really excited to see how the season plays out.”

Brynn Hanway:

“I started playing basketball for a league in first grade so I have been playing for a while. My brother played basketball when I was younger so I always saw him playing and wanted to be just like him. He was the one who really introduced me to basketball. My favorite part about playing on the high school basketball team is the friendships that I have made. Most of these girls have become my best friends and we are all like a family. I’m most looking forward to finishing my basketball career with this group of girls.”

Gabby Rose:

“I started playing basketball when I was about five or six so I’ve been playing for about ten to eleven years. My dad and siblings were the ones who introduced me to basketball. My favorite part of playing on the high school team is getting to play with the girls and the bond that you make with everyone. What I am most looking forward to during the season is when we enter districts, it’s always fun and very competitive and I’m excited to see how far we go.”

Victoria Yak:

“I started playing basketball in sixth grade, so I have been playing for about five years. My best friend’s dad was the person who introduced me to basketball. My favorite part of being on the high school team is being supported by all of my classmates. This season I am looking forward to seeing how far the team goes because we have a really good group of girls this year. I am just excited to see if we end up making it to state.”

Neveah Spillman-Campbell:

“I got introduced to basketball when I was really young but I have been playing on teams since seventh grade. I really think that I introduced myself to the sport. I was seeing all of my friends playing and I wanted to join them and hang out with them. My favorite part of a high school team is to be able to go out there and play with a lot of my closest friends, and it’s a really big blessing to be able to grind with all of them. I’m really just looking forward to trying to win state and just getting to the finals to see how far we as a team can really go.”

Alex Couch:

“I started playing basketball when I was three years old so that has been about ten years now. My family was introduced to basketball since it has always been around my family, so I just got into it and really started liking it. My favorite part of playing on the high school team is just the atmosphere and how competitive everyone is and how we all get along together. I’m most looking forward to trying to get to State, win a championship, and make some new friends.”

Kennedy Herrig:

“I started playing when I was about five or six years old, so that has been about twelve years now. My dad was the person who introduced basketball to me. He played in college and I grew up playing with him a lot. So he was the one who ultimately pushed me to become competitive with it. My favorite part is being able to play with my classmates. I think it is fun because you get to see these people every day and then get to go play a sport with them, and it is not always the case to have that with a club team. I’m looking forward to the postseason because we have a really good team and I am excited to see how far we go in the playoffs.”

Mackenzie Mill:

“I started playing in sixth grade, so I have been playing for about five years now. My dad was the one who introduced me to basketball in sixth grade. I used to play soccer and my dad told me that I would be good at basketball because of my height. So I started practicing and I really started to enjoy it. My favorite part of playing on a high school team is game days. I love away games the most because I am less nervous and I enjoy the rides with my teammates. I am most looking forward to seeing how far we get. We have a really good group of girls on the team and it is really fun to hang out and play with them. I am just excited to see our journey and how many wins we get and how far we end up making it.”

Ella Hays:

“I started playing basketball when I was five. So I have been playing for about twelve to thirteen years now. My mom introduced me to basketball. She played when she was a teenager and put it on me and I really enjoyed it. My favorite part personally is being able to play with all these girls and just having fun this year. I think we are pretty good so I am excited to see where we go. I am most looking forward to trying to make it to conferences and try to be district champs. I just want to make it as far as we can, especially with this group of girls and since this is my last year.”
