In the whirlwind of fashion, trends are constantly being recycled and reinvented, leaving people to wonder what’s next in the world of fashion. Fashion trends have been making statements for decades now and only continue to change at a constant rate.

   Fashion trends are like seasons. They come and go, each one is unique in it’s own way as they reflect the values and attitudes of the times.

“Flare and wide-leg cuts are coming back for pants, as well as chokers, low rise, and babydoll tops,” orchestra teacher Alysse Trusty said.

   Sometimes trends have a way of coming back full circle. Bell-bottom jeans were popular in the 1970’s and made a comeback in the 1990’s, and then again in the 2020’s. Platform shoes, iconic in the 1990’s, are also once again making a comeback.

  Not everyone is a fan of every trend. Some people disagree with the return of low-rise jeans or crop tops, citing discomfort.

   “I am not a huge fan of low-rise jeans because they’re uncomfortable and annoying because they fit kind of weird,” sophmore Emily Seymour said.

   Some people also think clothing trends are impractical.

   “A lot of people are wearing white shoes, which I don’t really understand since they get dirty really easily and don’t look as good when they get all stained,” McDonald said.
