The Kansas City Symphony performed in Liberty North’s new auditorium on Tuesday, November 8. However, this was not the ordinary, high-priced symphony; All ticket sales went directly towards Liberty Public School District’s Fine Arts Programs. The performance also showed the theater’s full potential.
“The best part about the Kansas City Symphony performing at Liberty North was seeing the theater full and being used to its full potential,” Senior Michelle Boyer said.
Due to the quality acoustics of the theater, the audience felt like they were on stage with the symphony as the sounds of composers such as Rossini and Mendelssohn filled the room.
“The Kansas City Symphony’s performance allowed the audience to get the full scale of the auditorium and hear the music really resonate,” Senior Michael Dorcy said.
Not only was the theater’s potential proven, students got to experience a symphony at their own school.
“I think it’s the coolest think that the Kansas City Symphony came to our school and chose to perform a concert and give us the profits from the tickets,” Junior Kristen Holleman said.
Overall, the symphony was a success, leaving the audience and the Fine Arts Program pleased.
