In the past few years technology has been added more and more into the classroom. The Liberty School District introduced computers and iPad’s in 2014 for their students to use in class. Some people think this was for the better while others didn’t.

“I think technology in school is a good idea but it also creates many distractions for students when they are working on assignments.” sophomore Grace Westfall said.

  Technology also has many problems. There are filters on the school’s computers restricting kids from watching certain videos and visiting useful websites. Teachers sometimes like to use these websites for lessons but later learn that they are blocked and students aren’t able to use these videos or websites.

   “The filters block so many helpful sites and videos, I can’t use these sites to make my projects as good as they could be,” freshman Courtney Hadley said.

  Although on the contrary many people enjoy the technology in the classroom. Technology allows students to learn more and do things that they would not regularly be able to do in the classroom.

  “I have done a lot of cool projects and things in class that If we did not have computers I wouldn’t have been able to do, and I learn a lot better from using these projects than if we were to read out of a textbook or something,” Westfall said.
