Training Athletes to Succeed

You may have seen Mr. Snow running around during different sporting events with a look of pure determination on his face only because he wants to make sure every athlete is as healthy as can be. Mr. Snow is our athletic trainer here at Liberty North and his job is to take care of the athletes and make sure they are fit to play.

“I get here at 7:40am. I do treatments and rehab until school starts. I continue doing treatments throughout the day on available athletes, especially during lunch and Eagle Hour. After school, I get athletes taped up and out to practice. Then I go outside and provide on-site medical coverage to practices and games,” Snow said.

Snow sees many students each day and then gets to sit on the sidelines of games and practices to make sure the athletes aren’t injured.

“I see about 30-35 students a day. Higher numbers in the fall due to the sheer volume of football players and and the high risk of injury. Getting great seats to sporting event is a perk of the job, but not the reason why I do my job. The part of my job that I take the greatest amount of pride in, is helping the athletes back healthy and back to their sport,” Snow said.

Snow really likes being a trainer because he gets to combine three things he loves; sports, helping others, and the human body. Not only does he like his job, but he likes doing it here at Liberty North.

“I love working at Liberty North. I have had the great opportunity to work at the high school, college and professional settings. The high school setting provides the best home-work balance of the three settings. The staff and administration here at North are great to work with,” Snow said.
