This past Saturday I decided to get my nose pierced, after one of my close friends got hers done, and told me everything about her experience, like how “it barely hurt” and she “hardly felt it”. Down the street from my house is a small tattoo parlor that does body piercings. On the car ride there my mom kept telling me how I had most likely been mislead, and her own experience with getting her nose pierced when she was my age. It definitely didn’t go as I had expected it would, seeing as though I walked out of the building without a pierced nose and my mother’s sarcastic comments and laughter trailing behind me. I hadn’t done any research on the nose-piercing-process before going in, and thought it would be a quick, painless procedure. But as the lady came at the front of my face with a needle that she had just heated with a lighter, my mind completely changed. Hopefully I will eventually be brave enough to go through with it and tough it out.
