Caitlyn Jenner Joining Jail

Caitlyn Jenner most famous for her new show “I Am Cait” and her miraculous transgender journey is more recently getting some media attention relating to the deadly car accident she was apart of earlier this year in Malibu.

“Jenner was driving at an unsafe speed when she rear-ended a 69-year-old woman’s Lexus, causing her to veer into oncoming traffic, which led to her death,” Detective Richard Curry of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told Times Magazine.

The charges Jenner is facing carry a potential 1 year sentence in jail. However legal experts have stated that being put in jail is unlikely for Jenner because during the accident she was not under the influence of any drugs nor alcohol and she was not going over the speed limit.

“Anyone could have been in the same position Caitlyn was in and I think it is important that we treat her as if she were a average person rather than the treatment, good or bad, that celebrities seem to receive,” Sophomore Rachel Hon said

As of right now Jenner has been sued for wrongful death by two step children, now adults, of the victim Kim Howe. Jenner is also being sued by another female that was involved in the accident for compensatory and punitive damages.

“I think that it’s important to remember when going through all of this that anyone could  have been in the same position Caitlyn Jenner was in and to treat everyone fairly,” Sophomore Maddie Elder said.

Not more than a few days after the accident, Jenner released a sincere apology to the victim’s family through PEOPLE magazine.

“My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident. It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time,” Jenner said
