Swimming With Scuba Diving Club

Liberty North has entered the underwater world with scuba diving club. This club was formed by Gabe Biggs, a senior who has been scuba diving for awhile now and wants to spread awareness of the ocean to other people at Liberty North. The lack of oceans doesn’t stop him from doing what he loves.

“I have been scuba diving for 4 years and have gone over 50 dives. I have a passion for diving and would like to show others what it is all about,” Biggs said.
Gabe started scuba diving right here in Missouri. Even though Missouri doesn’t have the oceans to do some serious scuba diving, Biggs still finds a way to practice his passion. He also would like to go on a trip out of country to do what he really loves and has been saving money for it.
“Scuba diving is not something that is short term. If anyone wants to get certified, they can go to the local pool for the basics. I’m trying to plan a trip somewhere this summer. Im coming up with ideas to raise money to help and sponsor trips. I have connections in Belize so we are finding out what needs to be done in order to plan and execute a trip like that,” Biggs said.
Biggs is trying to find a time to meet so more people can come to his club. Mrs. Presser is the sponsor for scuba diving club. Gabe would like to share his vision with everyone else, so more people can join the fun and become aware of what is under the surface of the water.
“You will learn how to scuba dive if you are interested and take part in something that will change the future and save the ocean that so many of us love. My vision is to share experiences, uncover resources, and identify opportunities for  underwater experiences, so that high school students can see  opportunities that lie below the water’s surface–recreation, careers and helping others,” Biggs said.
