Public speaking is a fear that many Americans have, but there are quite a few people who do this for fun as an extra-curricular activity. Liberty North offers many opportunities for those that fall under that category, including debate mock trial, and model UN.

“Model UN is basically where you get assigned a country and do research on that country. Then you go sit in a room full of a ton of people and get called on to discuss your country and it’s ideas and values,” junior Cami Smith said.

 Like everything, Model UN has its flaws, though.

   “The only thing I don’t really like about model UN is probably the time commitment with researching, and sometimes the committees get boring,”

MUN is not like every activity out there, just because of the different aspects about it.

 “My favorite thing about MUN is probably meeting people from different schools and being able to travel,” Smith said.
