Step 1: Pick out a pumpkin you want to carve. It can be large or small, whatever you prefer.

Step 2: Take a large serrated knife, make sure you’re careful or have an adult with you, and cut a circle around the stem of the pumpkin all the way around so you can remove the top.

Step 3: With a large spoon or scraper specially made for carving pumpkins, dig inside of the pumpkin and remove the seeds and fibers from the inside and throw them in the trash.

Step 4: After your pumpkin is completely gutted out, take a pen or marker and draw the face or design you want to carve out of your pumpkin.

Step 5: With your knife, follow the lines you drew and cut through the pumpkin, when you’re finished cutting discard the chunks of pumpkin you cut out into the trash.

Step 6: Lastly, put a tea candle or battery powered light inside your pumpkin and watch it glow!
