Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust

Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust

Auditions are over, lines are memorized, and costumes are ready. The cast and crew of the upcoming musical, Peter Pan, have been working hard to make the show come together. A story about a little boy who doesn’t want to grow up certainly doesn’t sound like a huge undertaking, but has taken over 3 months to prepare.

“Rehearsals tend to last until 5:30 or 6 everyday after school. They can be pretty busy sometimes, especially as we draw closer to show time,” sophomore Abby Day said. “The students and staff involved spend so much time and energy working on the show. It is amazing to see it finally come together.”

With the added stress of grades, homework, and life in general, dedicating time to an extra curricular activity like a musical, can be challenging. Besides the time set aside for rehearsals, the students involved have devoted their time to perfecting their lines and songs as well.

“Having to constantly rehearse the same scenes, songs, and dances over and over again can get annoying but in the end, it’s all worth it. Knowing that you have put in so much effort to make something great, is just a great feeling within itself,” Day said.

The musical will be held in the Liberty North Performing Arts Theatre February 7th at 7pm, and on the 8th at 2 pm and later that day at 7pm. Tickets will cost $10 and will be general admission. Make sure to go support The Liberty North drama department.
