Teacher Spotlight: Ms.Brendel

At Liberty North, there are multiple fine arts teachers. They help students get through their classes, prepare for their future, and grow as students. One of these teachers are Chablis Brendel who teaches many classes at North.

“Pushing artwork all the time, it’s totally fun to try new things constantly. And I love that. I love to grow and expand that creativity,” visual arts teacher Chablis Brendel says.

Its student’s responsibility to come to school, but for teachers, it’s the career they chose. Teachers spend eight hours five times a week at school. With this comes extended time with students.

“I’ve taught pretty much my entire life,” Brendel said.

They also work with a wide variety of other teachers, and staff who work besides them at the school.

“Love the staff that I work with. I love the building. I think the students are better than I ever thought they could be,” Brendel said.

As well as staff, students also spend a lot of time with teachers. Brendel has taught many different visual arts classes including art foundations.

“I think one unique trait about Ms. Brendel is that unlike other teachers she has the ability to push her students even if it’s difficult for them,” Sophomore Megan Day says.

Brendel has worked in many different schools and programs throughout her life as a teacher. In her classes she often talks about different philosophies in art and its importance.

“Something that I’ve learned in her class is that art is everywhere and that we would be nowhere without it,” Day says.
