North Student Recieves National Honor

National Honor Society is an organization for students who are going places. Those places include things like prestigious colleges, or maybe even to meet the president, which is true for one student.

“National Honor Society is a society based on scholars and people going places. I was excepted to Stanford over the summer and I went to The Envisions Program  to be a better leader. It  helps me go to better colleges,” Junior Tiara Hill said.

Hill has been selected to become a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.

“It took a lot of discipline, self discipline, parental discipline,” Hill said.

Hard work and the help of her family has helped Hill get to this achievement.

“Since I’m in national honor society, I get to meet the president and it allows colleges to see me and it helps with scholarships,” Hill said.

The help of this school society will hopefully help Hill get a scholarship to the school of her choice.

“In January, I get to meet the president and meet the fellow members of National Honor Society,” Hill said.

In addition to being able to get into good colleges, Hill will also be able to meet the president for her demonstration of leadership.

“Honestly, I feel like it’s a big deal. When I got the letter I was kind of baffled and I didn’t really understand what was going on. To me, it was really random because I went to The Envisions Program, that sent me to Sanford University and when I got back home, they wanted me to also join the National Honor Society. So, with all of that happening all at once, it was really exciting. I’m proud of myself and my family for helping me out,” Hill said.
