Choir Students Q&A

Emily McFadden – Senior – Mixed Choir

Q: How do you feel about getting into districts?

A: “I think it is kind of exciting because I started auditioning my sophomore year and then I made districts last year and then I got into again this year, and because of the choir, because I got into the mixed choir, which has men and women singing in it, it means I have an opportunity to try out for all state, so I’m excited.”

 

Q: What was the best part of getting into districts?

A: “I think just knowing I get to experience it all again, since I have done it for two years I know how fun it is, well for me, choir nerd, I love going in and learning all this new music and like you meet so many new kids from other schools so you make new friends through it too.”

 

Q: Are you proud of yourself? Why?

A: “Yeah I am pretty proud of myself because it is something you have to like make yourself go out and do and prepare for a couple weeks in advance and it is not something everybody does, so it’s a fun experience.”

 

Lucy – Virlynn Apollon – Junior – Mixed Choir

Q: How do you feel about getting into districts?

A: “Great. It took a lot of hard work and the hard work payed off.“

 

Q: What was the best part of getting into districts?

A: “Knowing that I cite read well because that was the hard part, so we worked hard and got through it.“

 

Q: Are you proud of yourself why?

A: “Yeah. hard work payed off, just knowing that your capable and at the top level of how ever many of the selected students who are selected, that just makes it all great.“

Katherine Herrick – Junior – Mixed Choir

Q: How do you feel about getting into districts?

A: “I am really excited and feel that my hard work payed off.”

Q: What was the best part of getting into districts?

A: “I think the best feeling is just knowing that you get to work with a lot of people who are really talented and you’re on the same level as them.”

Q: Are you proud of yourself? Why?

A: “I am definitely proud of myself just for performing better than I did last year.”

Hannah Thompson – Junior – Women’s Choir

Q: How do you feel about getting into districts?

A: “I am really excited and it is a great feeling.”

 

Q: What was the best part of getting into districts?

A: “I mean 9 out of 16 of the people that auditioned got in and that is the highest number this year, so it is nice to represent North.”

 

Q: Are you proud of yourself? Why?

A: “Yeah I am proud of myself because I think it is good to audition even it you don’t get exactly what you think you will.”

 

Elliott Yoakum – Sophomore – Mixed Choir

Q: What was it like being the only boy to get into districts from Liberty North?

A: “It is definitely an honor. All the other guys had really good auditions and I think more should have made it.”

 

Q: What was the best part of getting into districts?

A: “I was not very confident after my audition so it was a nice surprise to have gotten in.”

 

Q: Are you proud of yourself? Why?

A: “I am proud of myself because I worked hard on my audition piece with my voice teacher and I did a lot of sight reading to prepare. I am glad my hard work payed off.“
