Chase Mason Profile

Chase Mason has been practicing to get his very own Pilot’s License since last summer. Mason has always expressed interest in flying and piloting planes.

“I got into flying because I find aircraft and spacecraft super neat. Flying a plane sounded so cool, so I talked my dad into letting me start lessons,” Senior Chase Mason said.

With Mason also being a senior in high school, his hobbies and talents vary.

“I just fly as a hobby. I play a lot of tennis and computer games and so that interferes with flying because flying takes a lot of time out of my day. It is hard to manage all of my time,” Mason said.

With the exciting features of flying, also comes the hard and scary features.

“I love the closeup aerial views of downtown KC that I get to see every time I fly. It is also an incredible feeling knowing that you are in control of an airplane, but Landing is terrifying. You basically go straight at the ground, then at the last moment level out. It is super hard, and of course it is the most important part of flying,” Mason said.
