The Freshman Basketball Team has Started Their Season

The freshman basketball team has started their season. For some of them, this is their first time being on a high school freshman team, and some were in fall sports.

“I love playing on the basketball team because I like learning new skills and it is really cool. I like the feeling of shooting the ball into the hoop. My least favorite part is turning the ball over, I hate doing that especially if they score,” freshman Michael Mosley said.

Playing basketball is not just about shooting the ball it can also be about starting bonds with each other.

“I love playing basketball and supporting the school, but my favorite part is playing with my friends, playing against them when they’re from other schools, and getting to eat Jimmy John’s before the away games. My least favorite part is the morning practices I have to get up early and then I’m sweaty,” freshman Nate Chester said.

This is their first year of being on high school team and some have had a lot of emotions from being nervous to confident on the court.

“I like basketball. It is one of my favorites sports. I have lot of fun playing the game. I love playing with my friends and learning about basketball. When I’m playing I get nervous at the beginning but as the game gets going I gain more confidence.  My favorite thing about it is watching the ball go through the hoop. It is satisfying. My least favorite part is losing, I’m so competitive so losing is hard for me,” freshman Brock Neimeier said.
