There’s an app for that

Theres+an+app+for+that

There was been much talk around the school about a new Sports Marketing Project that has been going on. Students found out Thursday: it is an application made especially for Liberty North that’s able to be downloaded onto iPhones and Andriods.

“Basically it’s a mobile app that serves in replacement to the loyalty punch cards from last year. Its tracks reward points to every event you go to and awards you once you get to a certain amount of points,” senior Payton Reid said.

Also if students do not own a smartphone or aren’t able to download the app, there will be iPad mini’s before you enter every game where students are able to sign in, and check in so every student is able to get an equal opportunity.

Before the surprise was revealed at on August 29, the students were very confused as to what it could be. There was a fair amount of hype leading up to the release, from posters in the hallway to segments on KNET.

“I have no idea what the surprise was. All I knew is that there was a big poster that says ‘It’s Coming’ but I didn’t know what’s coming. I was excited to find out,” Junior Kaitlin Engel said.

Many of the students are excited to download and use the app this year.

“I feel like an app is going to work better with students than the card because it’s something we’re always doing. And a lot of kids lost their card last year so it’ll be easier because we’ll always have our phones with us,” Senior Emily McFadden said.

Below is a list of FAQ released by the Sports Marketing department.

Do I have to be a Liberty north student to participate?

Yes. In order to be eligible for rewards all participants must be a student at Liberty North High School. However, parents and teachers can still download the app and view the schedule for the current sports season.

How exactly do I sign up for this great app?

First of all, you can download the FREE app from either the App Store or Android Market, just search for ‘Eagle Pride’. When you open the app for the first time, there is a link on the top right that will pull up the form to register for the app. Please use a username that will help people determine who you are (ie  – your school username), and also check that you are a student from Liberty North High School.

Do I have to have a smart phone in order to participate?

No. At every home Liberty North Athletics event there will be an Eagle Pride check-in station equipped with laptops or iPads that any student can use to “check-in” and earn points.

How do I “check-in” to events?

Open the Eagle Pride mobile app, choose the event you’re attending and tap “Check in to this Event” OR students can go to the check-in station at the game and follow the same steps as you would on the app.

Where will the Check-in Station at each game be located?

The location of the check-in stations vary depending on where the meet is held. If you cannot find the check-in station, a Sports Marketing 2 student at the event can help show you where it is located.

What sports can I earn points for attending?

Every single one of them! How many points a certain event is worth, though, varies depending on what that event is. For example, there will be more points awarded for going to a swim meet than going to a football game. See app for individual event points.

If I don’t have a smart phone, how do I keep track of my point total or upcoming events?

You can log onto your account anytime you want by visiting lneaglepriderewards.com. As a registered Eagle Pride participant, you will also receive monthly emails containing your current point total, leaderboard standing, upcoming events, and any bonus point opportunities.
