Soccer Preseason

As winter sports are coming to an end spring workouts are just starting. Liberty North Soccer pre-seasons have started and have been rumored to be the hardest yet in hopes of a good season.

“Workouts are harder this year because we really want to push ourselves and we are tired of losing at the district game, we want our tittle. Along with the fact we are in one of the harder districts,” junior Sidney Ewing said.

The 2017 season is kicked off with our cross-town opponents, Liberty High School. Therefore, stakes are high to prepare the girls for the first game causing the need for some tough preseason workouts and dedication in the team.

“The level of dedication and intensity are different this year because we don’t want to lose to Liberty and we all realize what is at stake,” Ewing said.

With these workouts being more difficult they are very important for the team and how the team will work together this season. Along with being physically prepared the workouts also help bring the team together mentally and emotionally to prepare for the hard games and keep us all together through the whole season.

“Workouts are great because they really bring the team closer and establish connections before the season starts, which really helps us work better on the field during a game,” sophomore Abbi Harkness said.

The team is hopeful for a great season and know the benefits that can come from this hard preparation.

“I think this will be one of our best seasons because the bond is strong and the players and on the field and everyone seems to be in shape and that gives us an upper hand over teams.” sophomore Hayden Paulson said.

We all are hopeful for a district title, a win over Liberty, and a great 2017 season for our lady’s soccer team.
